All Americana: Products That Are Made in America

President’s Day: a day to celebrate the President’s of the United States, past and present. And, if you’re lucky, you also get the day off and get to scroll through all the online sales. We’re celebrating the day by highlighting a few of our favorite American made products. Brands such as Danner, Eastland, Vintage Shoe Company, Wolverine 1000 Mile and Wolverine 1000 by Samantha Pleet  (and some styles from Frye and Red Wing – Heritage) handcraft their products right here in the United States. Get more details on each brand’s American history below:

Danner shoes were originally made for workers around the country. Now, they feature great design aesthetics combined with the use of the highest quality materials and decades of craftsmanship. From GORE-TEX® lining that offers a dry, comfortable foot environment to Vibram® outsoles that provide the best support and comfort, Danner are the finest work boots you can get!

Eastland is a family-owned company that has handcrafted shoes, since 1955. Created with the finest workmanship from quality leathers, cushioned inner soles, flexible outsoles, and broken-in comfort, Eastland offers shoes for the entire family. Eastland’s premium collections like the Eastland’s Made in Maine USA and Eastland 1955 Edition feature moccasins, rugged boots, chukkas and oxfords.

Vintage Shoe Company has been creating high quality leather shoes and boots, for over 125 years. Using the same attention to details and craftsmanship, Vintage Shoe Company has stayed true to its classics with their archival collection inspired by their original 19th and early 20th century designs.

Wolverine 1000 Mile is a collection of boots and shoes in honor to Wolverine’s heritage and inspired by the brand’s original designs

Wolverine 1000 Mile by Samantha Pleet is the result of the collaboration between Wolverine and New York fashion designer Samantha Pleet. The collection marries Wolverine’s rich heritage with Samantha mystical-meets-modern design aesthetic. The collection features beautifully crafted leather booties, shoes and sandals.

Frye is the oldest, continuously operating, footwear brand in America. The Frye Company is one of the only few shoe companies who still continue to make products here in America. Frye is rooted in American history, having been worn by pioneers and cowboys in the late 1800s, American soldiers at war, and as part of the celebration of life and music in recent times

Red Wing shoes and boots are still primarily handmade in the U.S, using premium grade leather from their very own Tannery. In 2008, Red wing expanded their line up to include an heritage collection, each designed and built exactly the way they were over 50 years ago.

Side note: it never hurts to wear your American made shoes with some plaid or Americana accessories.
