Liza Kindred of Third Wave Fashion and a global speaker and expert in the world of fashion tech is telling us about her SXSW experience as she shares her favorite moments, looks and fashion tech discoveries from the iconic Texas festival!
Today, my company, Third Wave Fashion, did a morning detox and “State of Fashion Tech” event along with Cortexica. A lovely jewelry store in Austin, called Sikara, hosted us. We drank organic juice and chatted all about fashion tech and wearables. I did a casual presentation with #FashTechLondon founder Alex Semenzaton during the event.
Every year at SXSW, people look to see what the “breakout app” will be. One year was Twitter and another year was FourSquare… this year it seemed to be Meerkat App, the brand-new live-streaming video app. It was so popular in fact, that mid-SXSW, Twitter moved to shut off the apps access to their social graph. Download and play with it while you can! My friend Tara Hunt, demo-ed the app for me.
At SXSW, there’s the official conference sessions, giant parties, and a ton of private events. We were thrilled to attend the dinner celebrating the newly re – launched New York Times magazine, thrown by the new agency Mirum. Smart, talented people and delicious cocktails. What else does one need in a dinner?
